The long range, bolt-action, Savage 10 GRS rifle provides a precision marksman experience in a centerfire gun that’s as well optioned as it is good looking. Furthermore, Savage brilliantly uses high-end components such as its own Savage 10/110 action, Savage AccuTrigger and a fully adjustable GRS stock to provide outsize value.

The gun comes in four calibers: .308 Winchester (20” barrel, 1:10” twist, 40” overall length, 8.9 pounds, 10-round magazine), 6.5 Creedmore (24” barrel, 1:8” twist, 44” overall length, 9.2 pounds, 10-round magazine), 6.5 PRC (24” barrel, 1:8” twist, 44” overall length, 9.2 pounds, 3-round magazine), and the long 6 Creedmore (26” barrel, 1:7.5” twist, 46” overall length, 9.6 pounds, 10-round magazine).

Regardless of caliber, the 10 GRS’ receiver, fluted heavy barrel and stock are matte black. The receiver and barrel are both carbon steel. Furthermore, the barrel is has a 5/8”x24 TPI threaded muzzle. The gun comes without sights or optics, but atop the receiver is a one-piece 16-slot bridge Picatinny scope rail.

The controls are exactly where you’d want them: so the magazine release, spherical bolt knob and trigger are all in easy reach for slick and fast operations.

The stock is made by GRS (Grodas Rifle Stocks) in the rugged Norwegian countryside roughly 300 miles northwest of Oslo. It’s their tough, all-weather Berserk polymer stock. It’s formed from a high performance thermoplastic named Durethan that’s then fiberglass reinforced.

The GRS stock has a very nicely angled textured pistol grip. It’s contoured with a trio of finger recesses. The gun also has a textured forend.

The back of the GRS stock is most interesting. It has two SpeedLock 2.0 system push buttons: one locks/unlocks the cheek riser while the other one is for the butt pad. The back also features a .5” thick recoil pad that’s independently adjustable for height. All this means a 13.25” to 14.50” adjustable length of pull. The stock also has both flush cup sling mounts and push button sling loops.

Speaking of trigger, the AccuTrigger has an AccuRelease ported safety blade design. This trigger is both a safety device and high performance component. Pulls are clean and crisp without creep. It is user-adjustable from an ultra-low 1.5 pounds up to 6 pounds of pull pressure, and thus hits a sweet spot: its super light pull pressure permits ultra-accurate shots, but the safety part keeps the gun from going off if dropped or jarred even at such light pressure.

The Savage GRS 10 has a detachable box magazine. The gun is Made in USA with a very big input from Norway.
