The bolt-action Savage 111 Trophy Hunter precisely embodies Savage’s philosophy of creating excellent out-of-the-box value laden packages that don’t need to be upgraded, but can be. The centerfire 111 covers seven calibers: 25-06 REM, 270 Win, 30-06 Springfield, 300 WIN MAG, 7mm REM MAG, 338 WIN MAG and 6.5 X 284 NORMA.

The first three are 22” barrel guns, and each has a 1:10” twist ratio. Moreover, each is 42.5” in length, has a 4-round detachable box magazine and weighs 9.02 pounds. The four 24” barrel guns are the 300 WIN MAG (1:10” twist ratio), 7mm REM MAG (1:9.5”), 338 WIN MAG (1:10”) and 6.5 X 284 NORMA (1:8”). Each member of this quartet measures 44.5” in length, has a 3-round detachable box magazine and weighs 9.27 pounds.

These rifles come in matte black. So the carbon steel receiver and synthetic sporter stock both have a matte black finish while the button-rifled carbon steel barrel has a matching matte blued finish. The rifle lineup is right handed with detachable box magazines, and all have a 13.5” length of pull.

The 111 also has Savage’s AccuTrigger. Savage likes to put this on its guns for good reason. Among other things, this trigger is user-adjustable and prevents the rifle from discharging when jarred or dropped.

These bolt-actions come standard with a bore-sighted high-quality optic 3-9x40mm Nikon BDC long range scope (and the scope rings, of course) that spans the ejection port. It has multicoated optics and is waterproof and fog proof.

The 111s showcase classic styling with four rounded corner parallelogram diamond hatched blocks flanking each side of the forend and a pair on either side of the grip. And finally, these guns have a nice thick black buttpad that does a great job absorbing felt recoil.
