The Savage Arms 12 LRPV centerfire bolt-action single-shot packages 26” barrels with .223 Remington (1 in 9” twist ratio), .223 Remington (1 in 7”), 204 Ruger (1 in 12”), 22-250 Remington (1 in 9”), 22-250 REM (1 in 12”), and 6 Norma BR (1 in 8”) calibers to deliver long-range accuracy. LRPV stands for Long Range Precision Heavy (barrel) though the V might as well stand for V-Block.

The LRPV is feature-rich. It famously incorporates the AccuTrigger Savage uses across a broad spectrum of products for good reason. The two-stage AccuTrigger is predictable, clean and crisp. Among other things, it is user-adjustable from 2.5 to 6.0 pounds of pull pressure and prevents rifles from discharging when jarred or dropped.

The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounts and has a matte finish to its natural stainless steel. It also features a one-piece matte black synthetic HS Precision fiberglass, Kevlar, carbon fiber and foam core stock with an integrated v-profile aluminum bedding block Savage appropriately calls v-block. This labor-intensive stock manufacturing with the integrated aluminum bedding contributes to the gun’s accuracy and is a very nice marrying of future tech in a classic wooden stock’s silhouette.

The button-rifled free-floating barrel is 26” of stellar, fluted, full profile stainless-steel with a natural matte finish. Length of pull is 13.75” while overall length is 46.25”, and weight is 11 pounds.

Savage thoughtfully ensured you can also configure the bolt and ejection port for left-hand use. Ergonomics are excellent and include things like an oversized bolt handle. The gun has front and rear swivel studs.
