The Sig Sauer P229 Nitron Compact alloy frame 9 mm 15+1 capacity semi-automatic pistol has a black Nitron stainless-steel slide with the matte black hard coat anodized finished alloy frame.
The Nitron is a good looking double-action/single-action (DA/SA). These come 1.5” wide, 5.5” tall with an overall length of 7.1” wrapped around a 3.9” long barrel. The sight radius is 5.7”. Total weight is 32.0 ounces.
Nitron is SIG’s name for its PVD (physical vapor deposition) finish. It looks great and makes any gun corrosion resistant and more durable. The slides feature forward facing diagonal slide serrations in back. Behind the slides are an exposed hammer and a short beavertail below it.
The Nitron is all Nitron black for the slide and frame. Moreover, its fasteners, safeties, hammers, slide release, trigger, magazine release and any other externally visible actuation points have a matte black Nitron finish. There are two SKUs: Massachusetts and California compliant versions. Both feature two 10-round steel magazines and SIGLIGHT sights and textured E2 grips.
