Sig Sauer P938 BRG is a 7+1 SAO 9 mm concealed carry gun with cool Hogue black rubber grips (hence the model name’s BRG suffix), SIGLITE sights and more. Sig calls these single-action only (SAO) semi-automatics micro-compacts for good reason. Wrapped around a 3.0” carbon steel barrel are correspondingly compact dimensions that include a 1.1” width, 3.9” height and a 5.9” overall length.
The stainless steel slide has Sig’s Nitron finish. Nitron is Sig’s name for its black PVD finish. PVD stands for physical vapor deposition. This process makes the SIG look great and makes any gun corrosion resistant and more durable. The slide also features 3-dot SIGLITE night sights that use tritium to glow in the dark and still show as white in normal light. For durability, they’re made of steel, and between the two is a 4.0” sight radius.
The frame is alloy steel and hard coat anodized. In back is a medium beavertail and the exposed loop hammer. The magazine release and slide stop are on the left, but this micro-compact nicely features ambidextrous thumb safeties.
P938 BRG’s standout feature are its Hogue black rubber grips. These are rubber overmolded and have a spaced raised bump texture Hogue calls cobblestone. It’s attractive and functional. The Hogue grip wraps around the front. Between the undercut behind the trigger guard, the finger recess curves on the front of the grip and the slightly extended 7-round magazine with a partial finger rest, there’s room for two or three fingers. Weight is only 16 ounces or 1 pound.
The P938 BRG has a standard solid curved trigger and comes standard with one 7-round steel magazine.
