The Springfield Armory Saint Edge combines AR-15 modularity, 5.56x45mm NATO (.223 REM) caliber and modest, lightweight, portable dimensions.

The lightweight profile chrome moly vanadium barrel is 16” long and has a 1 to 8” twist.

Total weight comes in at 6 pounds 3 ounces while length, thanks to the adjustable stock, is 32.5" to 35.75".

The upper receiver is forged from 7075-T6 aluminum that is then Type III hard coat anodized. Inside it is a premium M16-pattern bolt carrier group. At back is a lightweight mid-size Springfield Armory charging handle.

The mid-length gas system is tunable for different types of loads and is fed via a low-profile gas block.

The M-LOK handguard is free-floating to minimize vibrations. Naturally, it integrates with the receiver, permitting a long Picatinny rail to run across most of the gun. Atop the rail are low profile, adjustable, spring-loaded flip up sights. In front is a protected blade sight while at back is an adjustable aperture sight.

The handguard’s M-LOK slots are at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions, while other sides have similarly sized rhombus lightening ports.

The gun has an unusual 1/2”x28 TPI square profile proprietary high-performance steel muzzle brake with three square side chambers and two matching square compensator ports on top. It’s designed to vastly reduce felt recoil and muzzle flip to the point of elimination.

The upper and lower receivers join perfectly using Springfield’s Accu-Tite fastening system.

The lower receiver is machined out of 7075 T6 aluminum. It has a flared magazine well for quick, easy and reliable reloads, an ambidextrous thumb safety just above the trigger and integrated QD sling mounts. Lightening cuts not only decrease weight while retaining strength, but their architectural and structural design add appropriate techie looks.

The gun features the match quality single-stage trigger. It has zero creep and short resets. It’s modular and protected by an oversized glove-friendly trigger guard that a pair of big lightening ports in the bottom.

The gun has a textured polymer Bravo Company BCM Mod 3 pistol grip that’s configurable with three different beavertails. It also has a light-weight polymer six-position Bravo Company BCM Mod 0 SOPMOD butt stock. Both are black.

In case you were wondering, SOPMOD stands for Special Operations Peculiar Modification. You’re welcome! The component has a snag-free design that eschews sharp edges. In back, it has a herringbone grip pattern on the rubber butt pad. No more sling snags or other unexpected grabs. SOPMOD butt stock has QD swivel sockets, ambidextrous sling mount options and a modular Vehicle Borne Operations Sling Tab (VBOST) to help secure your gun inside a vehicle.

Finally, the Springfield Armory Saint Edge comes with a 30-round Magpul PMAG Gen M3 magazine.
