The Taurus Model 513 Raging Judge Magnum is a very powerful 6-shot cylinder large frame revolver that can fire .45 ACP, .454 Casull, .410-gauge 2.5” shot shell or .410-gauge 3” Magnum shot shell. Normally firing different types of ammo indicates several different models, but the 513 Raging Judge Magnum handles all four of these out of the same frame, cylinder and barrel.

This gun exudes power. It simultaneously looks both modern and retro. It wears an almost satin matte stainless finish on its frame and cylinder. The cylinder is long, of course, and fluted too.

The Raging Judge also has nicely textured rubber grips that have three well-defined finger recesses. But beyond its ammo, the gun’s signature is its vibrant red Raging Bull backstrap that’s a nice visual focus. Moreover, this insert adds some good cushioning which makes it very functional.

You can get this gun in either 3” or 6.5” barrel versions, both of which are rifled. And unlike many other Taurus models that have different options for the finish, grips, etc., the barrel length is the only difference between variants.

The 3” barrel gun is 10.2” overall and weighs 60.6 ounces (3.8 pounds). The 6.5” gun is 13.6” overall and weighs 73 ounces, which is a fairly solid 4.6 pounds! Either way, the gun is 1.9” across at the cylinder. Newer versions of the 6.5” barreled gun have a magnificent vented rib cresting above the barrel and bear the words “RAGING JUDGE MAGNUM” etched along the barrel flanks.

The longer barrel increases accuracy and weight while the shorter one might prove more portable. The 513 is a combo revolver, which marvelously means you can load any combination of .45 ACP, .454 Casull, .410-gauge 2.5” shot shell or .410-gauge 3” Magnum shot shell. Once you’ve loaded your ammo, the double lock-up cylinder locks into place securely.

The gun features the Taurus Security System, which locks the gun via a special key. These guns also have a transfer bar safety designed to prevent the gun from firing when dropped or accidentally discharge in some other way. Naturally, no safety is 100% safe, but this vastly reduces accidents.

The 513 Raging Judge features a red insert fiber optic front sight and a fixed rear sight. All versions have a DA/SA trigger.
