What is the Big Sandy Machine Gun Shoot: An Interview with Kenton Tucker.
Welcome to the Big Sandy shoot, the biggest machine gun shoot in the world. My name is Kenton Tucker. I’m the co-owner with Ed Hope. We have been doing this shoot for over 19 years. We have a quarter mile long firing line, 1100 meters of area to shoot in to. We shoot both reactive ground targets and remote-controlled drones. The drones fly both day and night, and the targets are out both day and night. This shoot expends a tremendous amount of energy and ammunition. We shoot over 1.9 million rounds of ammunition on average. The third weekend of October 2024 is our 20th anniversary. We have a lot of things planned. We’re bringing in tanks to fire their main guns, all the Israeli tanks that have been used and you are more than welcome watch how they work, how they run, we run them around on a course they shoot their secondary armament and the Main Armaments 120 millimeter gun on one of the Israeli tanks. Super cool to see, kids love it, it is a family affair. You’re welcome to bring your family here and shoot or just hang out and watch. We have over 260 shooters on the line and we’re expanding the line, and I would like to see everybody come on out.
