An antique European (most likely Dutch) Military flintlock holster pistol, circa.1740-1780 converted to percussion in the 1840's. Brass furniture. No provision for a ram rod (intensional design so when the pistol was removed from a saddle holster the ram rod would not catch and fall to the ground. A separate ram rod was retained on a lanyard). Sound root wood stock with a stress cracks in a few areas. Convex lock plate with remnants of engraved maker marks in good mechanical working order. 10.75".70 cal. smooth-bore barrel marked on the left side of breech 'G' and 'N : I', All steel parts have salt and pepper age pitting with age patina. 18" overall. Note; the top of the percussion hammer is broken off. A very interesting pistol. We will gladly consider any reasonable offers as well.
