Serial # 2 of Special Henry Sarah Kate Golden Boy

Serial # 2 of 10 Charity Rifles for Sarah Kate

You are bidding on Serial #2 of a Special Edition of 10 Henry Golden Boy rifles built exclusively to benefit a very brave and challenged young lady named Sarah Kate.

Henry Repeating Arms first learned about Sarah Kate back in July of 2017, and after hearing her story decided to create ten limited edition rifles through their Guns for Great Causes program to help. Six were donated straight to Sarah Kate's family for local raffles and auctions, and the first four serial numbers are available here.

The serial number of this rifle is PHIL413SK02 which invokes Philippians 4:13:
“I can do all this through him who gives me strength”. The SK02 signifies and celebrates Sarah Kate.

The rifles feature special Sarah Kate artwork on the buttstock including guitar and the inscription,” With God, all things are possible”. The story below reveals the significance of the Philippians verse and the inscription on the buttstock.

16-year-old Sarah Kate was born at 25 weeks, and doctors said she'd never go home. At 8-months-old doctors said she'd never walk or talk. Through the grace of God and her sheer willpower, Sarah is still here today and embodying a pure joy and vibrancy that those near her can't help but love.  At age 15, just last year, she walked into her school's Basketball Homecoming Court, chosen by classmates to represent her freshman class. Earlier last year she brought a full auditorium to their feet with her pitch-perfect voice and electric guitar playing after a performance of the Star-Spangled Banner.

Mere days following the talent show, seizures and complications with a shunt took the vibrancy that Sarah Kate embodied away from her. She was promptly placed on life support, which was discontinued six weeks later at the doctor's recommendation. Her parents were told that Sarah Kate would pass peacefully that night.

The next day she was still going and breathing on her own. She was put back on oxygen, and she was placed on a feeding tube shortly after that.

Today, Sarah Kate is back in her home; however, she is not entirely awake - she is in a "locked-in" state. Imagine being aware of those around you, and being able to hear them but being utterly incapable of communicating.

Months of living in a "locked-in" state, unable to communicate or move on her own came to an end with the generous donations of family and friends to help purchase a hypobaric chamber.  With the chamber's help, she is now grasping for items again, able to be fed without a feeding tube, humming music, and gaining the ability to speak.

Living in the farthest possible southwest corner of Kansas has Sarah Kate in a place far from the best doctors for her.  Travel, medical visits, and equipment for progressing therapy (physical, occupational, speech, etc.) continue and will continue to be needed for years to come.  An in-home nurse comes three days each week to assist in Sarah's care, and special food packages must be ordered and mixed for her feedings at this time. While she may have started her true miracle journey from literally step one again, Sarah Kate continues to work with God to show this world His awesomeness and that she is not finished yet!

One of these rifles was gifted to Sarah Kate's father who said that it will remain unfired until Sarah is back and can do it herself. "We believe in God. We believe in miracles. We believe that Sarah will be talking with us again one day."

The Henry Golden Boy is a masterpiece of fine crafted gunsmithing. Any shooting enthusiast who closely examines one is immediately impressed with the excellent fit, finish and overall visually elegant design. The Silver Boy features 20-inch blued octagonal barrel, American walnut stock, nickel-plated receiver cover, buttplate and barrel band.  The Golden Boy .22 features the legendary smooth Henry lever action and 16-round capacity. Barrel length is 20”, overall length is 38 ½” and weight is 6.75 pounds.

The Hunting Heritage Trust is please to administer this auction for the Henry  Guns for  Great Causes Charity. 100% of the proceeds from this rifle will go the Sarah Kate cause.
