The P85™ was the first 9mm centerfire pistol produced by Ruger® in the Prescott, Arizona manufacturing facility. Ruger® first introduced the stainless decocker-only model P85™ pistol in the 1990 Ruger Firearms Catalog. The serial number of this P85™ is 302-29857 and indicates this pistol was test fired in 1990. This pistol has never been fired beyond normal testing during manufacture. It features a 4-1/2 inch barrel and high-visibility white-dot inserts on both the front and rear sights. The square notch rear sight is adjustable for windage. It has a stainless steel slide and aluminum alloy frame with molded high impact grip panels. Other features include an oversized trigger guard, full-time ambidextrous magazine latch, and lanyard loop. This model P85 has only one decocking lever on the left-side of the pistol. The P85™ Pistol will be shipped in an orange and black, hinged cardboard P-Series pistol box along with a 15-shot magazine and an appropriate instruction manual. An original 1990 Ruger firearms catalog is also included with this auction. The pistol is being sold “as is,” and the purchaser assumes all liability for its safe and proper ownership, storage, use, and resale. Please note that the winning bidder of this auction is responsible for paying the Federal Excise Tax. The pistol is a part of the Ruger factory collection in Southport, Connecticut, and a Certificate of Authenticity will be mailed to the winner of the auction. NOTE: This firearm may not be available in all states and locales due to laws limiting magazine capacity. Please check with your local law enforcement agency prior to purchasing to verify that it may legally be purchased and/or possessed in your particular state and locale.
